Let’s Swing Into the New Year
Harvard Club of San Francisco cordially invites you to a Post-Season Celebratory Dinner
Featuring the 48th “Distinguished Citizen of the Year” Award.
**Come hear what’s on deck for the next season of GIANTS BASEBALL!**
What better way to start the New Year than to celebrate Harvard’s own Larry Baer, HBS ’85, for his 34-year stewardship at the San Francisco Giants. We’ll honor the business leader who has guided the Giants to three World Series championships, four National League pennants, and six division titles. In a fireside chat with fellow Harvard alumnus Sean Jacobsohn, HBS ’98, Larry will give us the scouting report on the upcoming season, both on and off the field, news on the players, and the lineup for 2026.
Don’t miss this opportunity to honor a distinguished alumnus and get a front-row seat for what’s next in Giants baseball.
**And There’s More! Harvard’s A Cappella Legends, the Din & Tonics**
Din and Tonics
With a grand slam performance, we’ll start the year on a high note with the Din & Tonics’ jazz-infused, witty, and harmonious repertoire. The Harvard Din & Tonics are Harvard University’s signature jazz a cappella group. These world-touring Harvard students—who perform in white tie and tails, garnished with lime green socks—will help us swing in 2026 for a lively musical treat.
Join your fellow Harvard alumni for a dinner filled with insights and uplifting fun.
**Larry Baer**
A fourth generation San Franciscan, Larry Baer joined the San Francisco Giants in 1992 as the Executive Vice President. He was named CEO in 2012. In his first year as president and CEO, the Giants won their second World Series Championship in three years. In 2014, the Giants won their third World Series title in five years. In 2021, the Giants won an all-time franchise record 107 games and the National League West title.
A graduate of UC Berkeley and Harvard Business School, Baer was named the “Person of the Year” by San Francisco Boys and Girls Clubs in 2010, and in 2012 he was honored as the Harvard Business School’s “Alumnus of the Year.” Baer and his wife Pam Co-Chaired the Campaign to Rebuild San Francisco General Hospital which was successfully completed in 2016. He continues to chair and oversee the development of Mission Rock, the 28-acre mixed use neighborhood across from Oracle Park.
