Bike Ride: Marin Headlands Loop

Bike Ride: Marin Headlands Loop

Join us for the HCSV alumni ride across the picturesque landscape of San Francisco and Marin! This year’s ride will be divided into two groups to accommodate riders of varying experience levels and preferences. While the two routes may differ, both routes will still experience the iconic sights that make this ride a favorite among cyclists. From Aquatic Park to Fort Mason, through Presidio Park, over the Golden Gate Bridge, up Hawk Hill, through the Headland, and into Sausalito. Both routes kick off at Pier 41 and culminate at Equator Coffee in Sausalito, where we will all share a delightful brunch. E-bikes and families are welcome to join!

The longer and more demanding route is designed for fast and experienced riders, covering 21 miles of hilly terrain and approximately 2100 feet of climbing. This route promises a rewarding experience for those craving all climbs in the Marin Headlands (Hawk Hill, Rodeo Beach, and McCullough Rode). However, please note that riders on this route are expected to maintain a brisk pace (~14 mph avg speed). You have the option to join the leisure group if you find the pace too demanding.

For those seeking a more relaxed journey, our leisure route offers a milder 14-mile ride with 1400 feet of climbing. You’ll still have the opportunity to tackle Hawk Hill (600-foot climb) while enjoying a more leisurely pace suited for riders of all levels.

After brunch in beautiful Sausalito, riders can choose to return to San Francisco via ferry or pedal their way back for extra miles.
